Ladies and Gentlemen, distinguished colleagues,
not a long time ago we met in Brno at the XIth Congress of the Czech Orthodontic Society. Now we are in the midst of prepa- rations for yet another of our annual meetings. I am extremely proud, that again after 5 years, I can invite you all to Prague, city on the Moldau river, city of many towers and a long history.
Please accept my warm invitation to the XII th Congress of the Czech Orthodontic Society, which will take place from September 22nd to September 24th 2011. This time the congress venue will be the Corinthia Hotel Prague and its comfortable conference halls and suites.
The main topic of the congress is going to be the straight-wire technique, which is undoubtedly the most widely used technique among orthodontists today. We will surely all be interested to hear new ideas and the latest developments in this field. Dr. Hugo Trevisi will hold a congress course on this topic for the first time in the Czech Republic. He belongs to propagators of the straightwire technique and is one of the fathers of the MBT technique. It is therefore our great honour to welcome him at our congress.
The second topic of the congress are Cleft lip and palate patients. We managed to invite renowned specialists in this area, who will present the up-to-date knowledge and treatment protocols. We have also prepared a Free topics section, where we will hear many very experienced and distinguished lecturers in orthodontics as well as from other ? elds. The Bedrich Neumann honorary lecture will be held by one of the most respected orthodontists around the world, Björn U. Zachrisson, who is very well known here in the Czech Republic.
Of course we have not forgotten to host a section for orthodontic assistants and lab technicians. We hope they will come in substantial numbers and will also enjoy the program and selected topics. We have chosen the newly reconstructed Malostranská beseda as a venue for the traditional social evening for our closest coworkers.
The Presidents reception will take place in representative quar ters of one of the Prague’s palaces on the Lesser Town Square (Malostranské náměstí). I would like to invite you to Kaiser stejnsky Palace on Friday evening, where we can all meet and have fun, this time to enjoy some swing dancing. We encourage you to come in the 30s style, even though it is no obligation.
We look forward to meeting you in Prague,
