Opening word

Dear Colleagues,

As a representative of the Organizing Committee of the 24th Congress of the Czech Orthodontic Society (ČOS) in Brno, it is my honour to invite you to an exceptional event that has no precedent in the history of our congresses. For the first time ever, we have included practical workshops as a standard part of the scientific program of the congress.
Our field is rapidly evolving, and as a result, there has been a tremendous shift in our treatment capabilities over the past decade. Such changes have completely transformed established orthodontic practices.
The main theme of the 24th ČOS Congress will be 3D printing in all its forms. Currently, 3D printing stands as one of the driving forces in our field. It is through 3D printing that we are pushing the boundaries and unlocking doors to our creativity. In the workshops with practical demonstrations of working with 3D printing, we will explore the extensive possibilities it offers. Intraoral scanners and computer programs for processing scans, working with 3D data, and designing appliances will be available. We also plan to have a workshop on direct 3D printing of aligners and digital treatment planning.
When discussing creativity and biomechanics in orthodontics, we could not have invited anyone else to Brno but the amazing and experienced lecturer, Prof. Ravindra Nanda. He perfectly fits into our congress theme and will also lead a full-day congress course. Among other distinguished experts, keynote lectures will be given by Dr. Bjorn Ludwig, Dr. Kuffer Maximilian and Dr. Molinari. The lineup of main speakers will be complemented by a number of Czech orthodontists who have already integrated 3D printing into their practices in various forms.
The interdisciplinary congress theme will focus on Orthodontic Treatment of Patients with Periodontal Impairment. Keynote lectures will be delivered by Dr. Alesandro Greco and Dr. Jan Streblov.
Honorary membership in COS will be granted to Assistant Dr. Magdalena Koťová, who will also deliver an honorary lecture by Dr. Bedřich Neumann.
As usual, we are preparing a rich accompanying cultural and social program. We believe you will spend three wonderful days with us in the central part of the city.
